There are no rapids on these expeditions! Jetboats are strong aluminum boats holding from 8 to 28 guests. They skim along the flat water (only) portions of the Colorado River at an average cruising speed of 20 miles per hour, and they stop frequently to drift gently along the current as your guide talks. Guests find the ride to be a sheer delight!Frequent stops allow opportunities for photography, and binoculars are also fun to have. This is a fine narrative and interpretative trip for the person with limited time. You will talk, get out of the boat and go on walks, and then power both down and up river. High red sandstone canyon walls form the scenic landscape where watchful eyes can occasionally spot eagles, bighorn sheep and deer. Prehistoric scenic Indian ruins from the Anasazi culture can be seen, and if the river level permits, you will take a short hike to a petrified forest near the river view of Dead Horse Point. Here, the canyon walls rise a towering 1500 feet above your head.
