The efforts for promoting Rioja wine, which have been done from Haro, started a long time ago. As champagne had its clergyman Don Perignon, and Bordeaux had its abbot Rozier, Haro's wine had another clergyman, Quintano de La Bastida. Haro has established itself as Rioja's capital, and an ideal base to explore the region and it's wine making history. In the morning, you will have your first guided visit of a Rioja cellar at Bodegas Lopez de Heredia, followed by a wine and olive oil tasting. You will then continue to Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta, for your second guided visit and wine tasting. You will then continue to Beethoven I for lunch. The meal will consist of a gourmet set lunch of three courses, home made dessert, Rioja wine and coffee. Please note: This is an independent tour and no tour guide is present throughout the day. The details of the wineries and the restaurant will be on your voucher, along with instructions on how to locate each.
