After launching from Kukui'ula Small Boat Harbor you pass the famous Spouting Horn, a remarkable salt-water blowhole. After about 45 minutes, you'll surf your kayaks up on the beach at Lawa'i Kai, the exquisitely beautiful site of Queen Emma's Summer Home. As you have gotten an early start and you may be ready for a pick-me-up, your guide will bust out a jug of hot coffee and bag of muffins for you to enjoy as you stroll the beach in the golden morning light.You will continue downwind, past the white sand beaches, barrier reefs, and volcanic craters of Palama's Point. As you paddle downwind, you'll be hoping to see interesting marine life, such as spinner dolphin and honu, or sea turtles, both common in this area. During the months of November through April, you also run the chance of getting a glimpse of migratory humpback whales.After 7 miles of paddling, you'll be ready for lunch. For that, you land at a special place to relax, eat, and play: a big protected bay known as Wahi'awa, where you can comb the ¼ mile crescent-shaped sandy paradise, play in the water, and snorkel the fringes of the bay. Meanwhile, your guide will lay out a tasty picnic lunch with a scrumptious brownie that may inspire a nap, which is fully endorsed.Around mid-afternoon after another brief paddle, your driver will arrive to whisk you away on your return to the Poipu resort area.This tour is seasonal and operates only from September to May

HIKE MAUI and KELII'S KAYAK have teamed up to offer a day tour that gives you a land and sea experience. Take an early morning kayak tour along the picturesque Makena coastline. As we paddle the coast we stop at our favorite spots to snorkel and swim with the giant green sea turtles. After 2.5 hours enjoying Maui's ocean beauty, we quickly shower off, then begin our hike into old Hawaii, visiting the scene where the last lava flowed on Maui 200 years ago, Expect "chicken skin" when we pass through the ruins of ancient Hawaiian sites, first explored in 1786 by French explorer La Perouse. Besides housing compounds, the ruins include temples, fishing shrines and canoe sheds. Your hike will be guided by an expert in Hawaiian culture and nature.

Take a fun downwind kayak trip on a beautiful jungle stream. After an easy 2-mile paddle, you'll tie your kayaks to a tree and take a short walk to a gorgeous area of waterfalls and swimming holes. Next, jump onto a covered wagon for a fabulous trip across Kipu Ranch being pulled by a big 4WD tractor to Kamapua'a Falls trailhead, then take a short stroll down to an incredible Swiss Family Robinson-style tree house, which is built around a huge Banyan tree. You'll be overlooking the middle pitch of the 120' bridal veil Kamapua'a Falls from picnic benches, while enjoying a delicious catered luncheon.Following lunch, guests will have the option of taking a wild ride on a 275' zipline over a waterfall and river, returning on foot via an 80' suspension bridge. State-of-the-art equipment and procedures make for a 100% safe and exhilarating "extreme" experience. From there you'll be continuing along a forest trail through the exotic foliage to Kipu Falls for swimming. The more adventurous types will be jumping into swimming holes at the base of waterfalls cascading over black lava rock cliffs, and swinging on ropes tied to tree branches high above mountain pools. Others will simply relax and enjoy the quiet beauty!From there, you'll be cruising by covered wagon to a jungle trail, where you'll walk to a river landing. Kick back on an exotic and unique twin-hulled powered Hawaiian canoe for a delightful cruise back down river: a fun ending to a fun day.Restrictions: Must be able to walk 2 miles and kayak 60-90 minutes. In order to participate in the zipline portion of the tour, passengers must weigh between 80 and 275lbs. Those who weigh less or more will not fit in the harness. Min Zipline age is 7 years.

The Kohala Coast offers some of the best diving in the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaii is one of the most geographically isolated places on earth - 2000 miles from the nearest major land mass. An amazing 30 percent of the state's marine animals are found nowhere else in the word! The theory session teaches students the basic rules for scuba diving, such as stabilizing ear pressure, breathing on scuba, and how to use the equipment. The dive boat goes to a shallow reef and an instructor will accompany the student at all times underwater. The dive is approximately 30-45 minutes long and goes to a maximum of depth of 40 feet.

This is the most popular kayak tour. If you can ride a bike you can kayak. After a brief paddle instruction and safety talk, you take your kayak down to the beach. And launch your kayaks from La Jolla Shores and paddle to the La Jolla Sea Caves taking in the gorgeous views and watching for the abundant wildlife. You can see numerous types of sea birds and usually sea lions, seals and sometimes dolphins. You then kayak into the fascinating kelp beds of the La Jolla Ecological Reserve and enjoy the surf zone on your way back. Kayaking is fun for all ages! No experience necessary. What to Expect: Be prepared to get wet! For safety reasons, the tour operator does NOT guarantee going into the caves on tours. This tour is not recommend entering the caves for pregnant women, small children or inexperienced kayakers. This tour is recommended for ages 6 and up. Participants must be able to swim.
