Visit the stylish new Shaw and Smith winery to taste their exceptional white wines and new merlot. Visit the Bridgewater Mill, home of the renowned Petaluma Wines. Tour through the Methode Champenoise Cellars and taste the world-class wines they produce over lunch at their outstanding restaurant. It time permits, travel further into the heart of the Hills to Chain of Ponds wines owned by the Amadio family. They produce a range of awarding winning white and red wines in their little piece of land reminiscent of Tuscany. Return to Adelaide via Glenara Wines who are producing a range of organic wines on their property declared a sanctuary for native flora and fauna.

Spend the afternoon in a cosy wine shop with the company of an oil and wine expert who will teach you correct tasting techniques. You will hear a brief historical introduction to the wine and the Chianti region, outline of working in vineyards and olive-yards, wine making and cellars, oil pressing techniques and the correct use of glasses according to wines. The winemakers, Stephen and Prue Henschke, were recently awarded International Winemaker of the Year. The afternoon takes you to small boutique producers such as Charles Melton or Turkey Flat, or maybe a formal premium wine tasting at Penfolds (additional cost), or even visiting Maggie Beere Farm shop. Alternatively, continue through the picturesque villages of Hills as you travel to Hahndorf, the German village where you can taste products from the Woodside Cheese Wrights and the fine wines produced by Hillstowe wines.
